President's Message

Greene County Medical Society was established in 1888 to provide a place for local physicians to discuss medical issues. Our goal remains the same, to provide excellent medical care while addressing modern issues of physician stress, insurance company impediments to providing patient care, and complying with government regulations. Any Greene County physician is welcome to join us in fellowship and give yourself a forum to discuss issues common to all physicians. We are stronger when working together.Mark Boettler, MD

About Us

The Greene County Medical Society, founded in 1888, is a professional membership organization representing physicians, medical residents, and medical students in Greene County. The Society is the local affiliate of the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and the American Medical Association (AMA).

Since its establishment by six area physicians in 1888, the Greene County Medical Society has maintained a tradition of excellence as a professional and scientific organization dedicated to improving the healthcare of Greene County residents. The members have incorporated medical advances with humanitarian concern to achieve the Society’s original goal of helping and healing others by sharing their knowledge and their commitment to quality healthcare.The members’ contribution of time, energy, and expertise have helped to provide Greene County with such beneficial programs as public information and education on health issues, accessible and affordable healthcare treatment, and physician support of patient advocacy and community health affairs.Through the activities of the Greene County Medical Society, the members have had the opportunity to promote the science of medicine, plus make their community a better place to live by encouraging better healthcare treatment and practices.
